How does Bajaj Allianz travel insurance cancellation work?

Before the policy start date
  • The insured is expected to inform NRIOL and an E mail should be sent by the insured requesting the cancellation.
  • He/she should furnish policy number or schedule number in the E mail.
After the policy start date
  • Proof should be sent that the insured has not travelled overseas.
  • Photo copy or Scan copy of all the pages (including empty pages) of the passport should be sent to us.

The policy will be cancelled Within one working day after receiving the email (and passport copy post start date).

Note: In both the cases there will be a Rs 300/- cancellation charges.

Refund for early return

In case of any early return of the insured person prior to expiry of the policy period the company will refund premium at the following rates subject to no claims being incurred on the policy:

Can I cancel my Bajaj Allianz travel insurance policy anytime?

Yes, you can cancel your travel insurance policy anytime, preferably prior to the commencement of your travel. A simple cancellation email will suffice and a full refund of premium (less a minimal cancellation fee) will be paid back.
Bajaj Allianz also allows cancellation upto 50% of the travel period in order to be eligible for a refund…this means if you have taken a policy for 30 days, and return to India earlier than planned, or do not travel at all, then you can cancel the policy and avail a refund upto 15 days from the commencement of the policy. Here you will need to submit your passport copy for proof of not traveling or early return.

Is there a refund after cancelling Bajaj Allianz travel insurance?

Yes, there will be a full refund (less a minimal cancellation fee) if you can cancel your travel insurance policy prior to the commencement of your travel. A simple cancellation email will suffice and a full refund of premium will be made by the insurance company.
If you have not travelled at all and apply for a cancellation after the policy has commenced, the insurance company will require proof (passport copy/cancelled air tickets etc) to grant you the refund as applicable.
Bajaj Allianz also allows cancellation upto 50% of the travel period if you return to India earlier than planned. How long does it take for the cancellation to be processed?

The insurance company normally takes a maximum of 15 working days for a refund of the applicable premium subject to submission of all necessary documents by the insured. If you are cancelling the policy to purchase another one for a later date, you can adjust the refund premium against the premium payable for the new policy.
