Ayudha Puje is an integral part of the Navratri festival a Hindu festival which is traditionally celebrated in India. The festival falls on the ninth day. On the ninth day of the Dasara festival, weapons and tools are worshipped. In Karnataka, the celebration is for killing of the demon king Mahishasura by goddess Chamundeshwari. After slaying of the demon king, the weapons were kept out for worship.
The devotees do the pooja in house by keep all weapons and tools. They first wash all the vehicles and decorate it. The pooja involves breaking of a coconut, mangalarathi for the vehicle. Sweets are distributed with friends and relatives
