Names of Goddess Durga with meanings

In Hinduism, Durga or Maa Durga is form of Devi, the supreme goddess. Maa Devi is depicted as riding on a lion or a tiger having eight arms carrying weapons and a lotus flower, maintaining a meditative smile, and practicing mudras. The name "Durga" in Sanskrit means "invincible".

Kali is considered by Hindus to be an aspect of Durga. She is thus considered the fiercer, demon-fighting form of Shiva's wife, goddess Parvati.
