Singapore Holidays

Singapore has 10 national holidays, some of them which are similar to Malaysian holidays. There are some points to be noted on the holidays of Singapore

If a holiday falls on Sunday the following work day will be a holiday.
If it falls on a Saturday there will be no holiday-in-lieu.
For companies that do not operate on Saturdays usually the following work day will be an off day
For companies that operate on Saturdays employees usually get off-in-lieu.

The national holidays in Singapore are as follows

Lunar New Year	A two-day holiday. An important Chinese festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional Chinese calendar.
Good Friday	A Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary.
Labour Day	May Day (or Labour Day) is celebrated as a mark of solidarity amongst workers.
Vesak Day	A holiday observed traditionally by Hindus and Buddhists
National Day	In commemoration of Singapore's independence from Malaysia in the year 1965.
Deepavali	Hindu festival of lights celebrated every year in autumn.
Christmas Day	An annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri	An important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting (sawm).
Hari Raya Aidiladha	Observed by Muslims.
