  • India had 37,160,000 total telephone lines in use, a total of 506,040,000 mobile phone connections, a total of 81,000,000 Internet users as of 2009. This sums up to 7.0% of country's population. There are 7,570,000 people in country has broadband internet accessibility. With this it lists as 12th largest country in internet usage.
  • As of November 2009 the total number of fixed-line and wireless subscribers reached 543.20 million.
  • There were 525 million mobile phone connections as of 2009 in Indian telecommunication industry making it third larges telecommunication network and second largest in terms of wireless connections in the world.
  • By 2015 India is projected as "billion plus" mobile users with fastest growing telecom industry in the world.
