The Schengen Agreement which was originally signed on 14 June 1985 by 5 members of the European union has been broadened to currently include 26 European countries. These 26 Schengen countries which together have a population of over 400 million have officially removed all border restrictions between their mutual borders. This allows international travelers to travel between these 26 countries without any border crossing restrictions. For Indians travelling to the Schengen region, it means that a single Schengen visa allows them to travel to all of these 26 countries.
Thanks to improved air connectivity, the growing Indian middleclass and greater awareness about travel destinations in Europe and elsewhere a large number of Indians travel to the Schengen region annually, and this number is growing with each passing year. One of the popular Indian travel insurance plan purchased for the Schengen visa is TATA AIG Travelguard insurance.
The TATA AIG Travelguard insurance plan satsifies these Schengen visa requirements of €30,000 Euro travel insurance coverage and has been approved by the Schengen consulates.
