Key benefits under the Student Suraksha Plans are below:

Medical Expenses (including Medical Evacuation / Repatriation of Remains) This coverage is the most important cover under any Travel insurance plan, and it covers

1. Actual expenses incurred for Out Patient Treatment, Hospitalization Expenses for any illness or injury sustained while abroad.
2. Medical Evacuation to a nearby location or to India due to a lack of medical facilities available subject to obtaining prior approval from insurer’s end for further treatment.
3. Repatriation of Remains is the expenses incurred to transport the mortal remains of the insured back to India.

Dental Expenses Coverage for actual expenses incurred resulting from sickness or accident to the teeth of the insured sustained during a Trip abroad.

Accidental Death / Permanent Total Disability This is a compensation paid to the insured’s nominee in the even of unfortunate demise of the insured as a result of an accident while abroad. Similarly if the insured is in an accident resulting in a Permanent Total Disability, compensation is payable to the insured.

Loss of Baggage / Loss of Personal Documents This benefit will reimburse the insured person the cost of replacement articles for any damaged or lost articles due to the loss of baggage / personal documents in the custody of the common carrier.

Loss of Passport In the event that the passport belonging to the Insured is lost, the Insured is reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in obtaining a duplicate or fresh passport abroad.

Delay of Checked Baggage This benefit pays for reasonable expenses incurred for the purchase of toiletries, clothing and medication due to delay of checked-in baggage for more than 12 hours

Compassionate Visit (2 way) If the insured person is hospitalized on account of an illness/accident for a period exceeding 7 days and requires assistance from an immediate family member, the insurance company shall reimburse the cost of a round trip economy class flight ticket incurred by the immediate family member. Similarly if the insured’s parent’s/spouse/child is hospitalized for a period exceeding 10 days, the insurance company shall reimburse the cost of a round trip economy class flight ticket incurred by the insured.

Study Interruption In the event of Hospitalization of the insured person of more than one consecutive month due to a covered Injury or Sickness or the death of an immediate family member and the insured student is unable to continue his/her studies for the remaining part of a school semester for which Tuition fee has been paid, the Company shall reimburse the Insured Person the Tuition fees which has already been advanced to the University.

Sponsor Protection In the case of injury to the Insured Person’s Sponsor (as stated in the Enrolment Form) resulting in Death or Permanent Disablement, the Company shall reimburse the insured person the Tuition Fee incurred for the remaining period of this education.

Bail Bond The insurance company will pay costs relating to the bail bond if the insured student incurs, as a result of any inadvertent law breaking or false arrest in a bailable offence or wrongful detention by any government during his/her travel overseas.
