US F-2A visa, US Second Preference Family visa for spouse and minor children of US permanent residents

F2A visa

F2A visa is a US immigrant visa that allows the permanent citizens with green card to bring their spouses or minor children permanently to US. Children of US green card holder who are unmarried and are under 21 years of age can apply for this visa.

• The green card holder must be living in the US and have a registered address with the authorities that is within the US .The sponsor have to be at least 18 years old so that they can understand the agreement to the conditions and complete all documents.
• Application procedure for F2A visa starts within the US, with the US citizen (spouse) petitioning to the authorities. Spouse (alien relative) of the applicant must fill all the necessary sections and file the petition Form I-130, and submitted to USCIS.
• The foreign spouse must apply to a US embassy or consulate in their home country after the petition is approved. The petitioner will be notified on the status and the reasons for denial if denied. if the petition is approved, it will then go to the National Visa Center (NVC) for further processes.
• The applicant of the foreign country will receive instructions, case number and invoice ID number from NVC which is used to start the application process at the US Embassy or Consulate in applicant’s home country and will have all the instructions on what to do next.
